A local guide to Cippenham

Notable properties in the area include Western House, which is now the name of a local school, Cippenham Lodge and Cippenham Court Farm.
The latter has played an important part in the development of Slough as a whole because this is where the world famous Slough Trading Estate originated.
During World War One, a vehicle repair depot was established in the grounds of Cippenham Court Farm. Then, when the war ended, this was sold to the Slough Trading Company (which later became Slough Estates) – sewing the seeds for the development of the Slough Trading Estate.
Prior to this, the area could already boast historical significance as Henry the Third had a palace there (denoted as Cippenham Moat on most modern maps) in the 13th century and is still home to Slough’s one and only surviving village green.
The average selling price for houses in the area over the past 12 months is £198,983, which is in keeping with those reported throughout the rest of Slough.
The housing stock in the area is predominantly semi-detached, and relatively modern, thanks to the development of the Cedar Parks and Windsor Meadows housing estates.
The area is well served by transport links, as Cippenham is just off Junction 7 of the M4, and Slough’s train and bus stations are effectively on its doorstep.
